I've Captured the Moon!
Persistence, not pressure, was the answer
I sometimes have trouble focusing. I can have too many ideas and can’t zero in on the “right” topic. Other times, I’m too blank a slate.
What has helped me is the marrying of my two loves—words and images—into the same toolkit.
I can be walking down the street, see something that interests me, and do one of two things:
Take multiple photos immediately
Look at it more intensely to figure out what I see and then shoot multiple photos
Either way, I have a rich library of images that generate or encapsulate the topics that I care about and want to write about.
The photo I took the other night, of the moon, generated a single sentence for me:
I’ve captured the moon!
And from that sentence, I’ll write a story about my efforts to see and photograph the moon.
How do I know that?
Capturing and writing about the challenges of enjoying Nature in the Urban Jungle has become part of my process now.
